FDRC Round Up for 2012

 2012 saw lots of changes for Fawkham and District Riding Club and many great achievements. 

• We  started off in Jan of 2012 by being featured in the Local Rider magazine
  following the success of our 2011 Winter Dressage series, which put us in
  the spotlight that month.


• In Feb –  One of our long standing members and now a committee member’s horse became Naf Five Star riding Club Hero of the Month.


• In March saw the Launch of our new website, which attracts an average of 2000 unique visitors a month and the layout helps us update it more efficiently, but it meant we had to change our web address www.fawkhamridingclub.com

Also in March saw our first ever Emile Faurie Dressage Clinic at the Old Mill Equestrian centre. It was very successful and the feedback was very positive, hopefully in the future, we can arrange another clinic with him. 

• In July we sent Senior & Juniors Teams to the Area 10 Dressage qualifiers at
  Ardingly Showground. It saw new members and horses competing for the first time for the club. We also come away with a qualification for the National Championships at Aintree.

• In  September we held a XC clinic with Janine Lamy,  were all riders benefited from Janine’s wealth of experience.


• In October Natalie Scott and Nicola Whiteman took the long trip up to Aintree  for the dressage to music championships, both horses travelled impeccably well and coped with the busy arenas, FDRC were not in the placings but we were all very proud of them coming 11th amongst high standard of riders and
  horses. 
  


• In  Dec, we sent a Junior and Senior team to the Area 10 Winter Dressage qualifiers. Our Junior teams came 3rd overall and Hannah Knight won the Novice class with a huge 73.75 %


• As ever our Winter Dressage Series proved popular again, with all our qualifying rounds seeing a full turnout of competitors.  The standard was extremely high,  full results available on our results page.

In 2013 we already have many dates in our diary, please see our diary page on our website.
New to 2013:  

• On  7th April, we will be  holding a dressage competition with a slight difference that you can enter as a team as well, schedule already up on our website, there are limited spaces, so please enter early. As always discounts apply to our members.
  


• In May we are hoping to hold a XC clinic with Janine Lamy  – venue  dependant.


• On June 16th, we are holding an informal jumping show at a new venue, White House Stables, Fawkham, we will be encouraging people either hack or share transport, but if venue proves successful we will hold future events and competitions there.
  


• We will be publishing some 2013 dressage clinics dates -  venues still to be  confirmed.

• As usual back by popular demand is our winter  dressage series.

 
Along  with our website, we also have a facebook page where you can keep up to date with news, results and view photos from our clinic and shows.

This  year has already seen many new members sign up, so we hope that 2013 will not only see new faces, but we will be able to send more teams out to Area
competitions.
